In high school Matthew Lambert became interested in the possibility that there may be a God, and, he said, “depending on what kind of God, that was either an insignificant idea or extraordinarily important one.” He eventually converted to Christianity, so the idea turned out to be integral to his future.
Further discernment allowed him to realize how much he enjoyed praying. But he also felt a call to teach, and the Benedictine order would allow him to do both. Now, fresh off a doctorate from the University of Notre Dame, Father Matthew has returned to Saint Vincent College and Seminary to teach as well as To Follow Christ.
