Brother Bosco Hough’s first vocation was to teach. Being the oldest of nine with a twin sister, when his parents worked, he and his sister would take care of the younger children. It was then that he fell in love with children and education. As a student at Saint Vincent College, even though he was very active, he had a negative self-worth, and always seemed to be trying to impress others. When he began going to prayer with the monks, he discovered that they weren’t trying to impress anyone, but rather, “they knew each other’s strengths and they knew each other’s weaknesses. But they loved each other just for who they were.”
