Gilbert Heater majored in music and was working as an executive sous chef when he was struck by an after-work conversation that posed the question, “if you won the lottery and could do anything you want, what would you do?” His answer was “if I could do anything, I’d go off and be a monk.” It was an interesting answer because he was not even Catholic at the time. Now he is a priest serving in the Diocese of Pittsburgh. He was one day from ordination when this interview was filmed in summer 2025.
